Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to make your own screensaver which is pretty cool. So the first thing we’re going to do is do a Google search for WG screensaver creator and click on the first link. You should tick it here and go ahead and download it. The second program we need is going to be called Format Factory. Do a Google search for that too and push the download tab.
Now that I've shown you all the programs we’re going to need for this, go through these steps install WG screensaver to create a shortcut right on your desktop. Now what were going to do is we’re going to need a video that we’re going to need to use for this. The video is going to be the screensaver that you wanted to be. Let’s say I have a cool video of me and my friends, you're going to use that as your screensaver. Just figure out first which video you want it to be because it can be any video.
So I'm going to go ahead and open up FormatFactory here. WG screensaver only accepts swf file and this is like shockwave flash video. So when we open FormatFactory this is what we’re going to do, we’re going to push all to swf and then you could choose the file that you want to convert and push the “Convert” button.
Once you’ve done that, when you install FormatFactory it should make a folder in your documents that says “FF output”, that’s where all your videos are going to be when you do that. So now we’re going to open up WG screensaver creator and browse for the file here and we’re just going to push fit to screen and you could choose the background color and you want to name and then you push “Create screensaver”. But this is the tricky part, here we have two options where you can right click on your desktop and once you push create the screensaver it’s going to ask you where you want to save it and it’s going to save it as .sci which is a screensaver file. So we’re just going to click on the screensaver tab and your display properties and you can just—it will not show up here because it’s not going to show up because it’s not in the right location.
So, what you're going to do is you’re going to locate your screensaver file and we’re going to go to “My Computer”. Now what we’re going to do here is we’re going to go to your C drive and we’re going to click on the Windows folder—all capitals. In this folder you’re going to find a folder called system 32 and what you’re going to do is you just locate the folder that is system 32 and then drag and drop your screensaver in there. And then when you right click in your desktop and push Display Properties and then push screensaver, then it will show up in that list as long as the file is in the system 32 folder.
And that was the tutorial on how to make your own screensaver.
