How To Create Luscious Lips

Joanie: I’m doing great Lisa. How are you?

Lisa Sim: Fabulous. So today we’re going to just talk about faking it. Do you
fake it sometimes?

Joanie: Well, it depends Lisa. What are you talking about?

Lisa Sim: You know, when you’re tired you just want to go to bed. No,
honestly okay. Everybody seems to be faking everything these
days. Fake boobs, fake lips, contact lenses, teeth whitening, getting
them capped, curly hair, straight hair, there’s all sort of ways that
we can fake our looks these day. So today we’re going to about
how we can fake fuller lips, higher cheek bones fuller brows and
lots of lashes. Sounds good?

Joanie: Great.

Lisa Sim: All right, let’s go. We can start with the lip line. For somebody
who has a really thin lip, they can start with a little bit of penciling.
Usually going like a little half shade darker than your normal is the
way to go and we’re just going to go just a little bit outside of the
line. Always start with the lips together. That way we can see the
natural resting state and we’re just getting like the line a little bit
wider as well, so it’s not overly defined. We don’t want the faking
to show too much.

Now we’re going to do a technique which is a lot like let’s say if
you’re like doing drawing of like a sphere. And the light hits the
sphere there’s always a highlight and then there’s a shadow. And
so that’s basically what I do. The lip liner acts like a shadow
making it look more focused and then we’ll put a little bit of
highlight in the middle of the lip. So it tracts for light and it pops
out a little bit more. So take something that has a little bit or
shimmer in it and just apply it to the center of the lip and blend it
in to the lipline.

So the rule of thumb is the darker the color is, the more recessed
it’s going to look and the lighter and shinier the color, the more it’s
going pop off the skin and come forward. So it does give that a
look of fuller lips. Out there right now, there is a thing called like
lip fusion you know and not—it works on vasodilation. Okay,
vasodilation. Okay so it’s a vitamin B derivative and all it’s doing
is like increasing blood circulation. So it’s actually like acting like
a bee sting or an allergic reaction to make your lips look puffier.
