Decorate of shelving such as this can be a better overwhelming. Choosing more different ware and find a place for all this not so pretty things can be difficult. With a few simple tips, you will be able to decorate your shelves with the style and function. I am Meghan Carter and this is Ask the Decorator.
The key to decorate the shelving is using a bunch of stylish containers. It seems like such a waste using all of your shelve in just for decoration. Why not use it for storage too. So, in deciding what to put on decorative shelving, I always suggest using a combination of things that look pretty and things you need to store.
And all of those things you need to store should be put in those decorative containers. You can use baskets, bowls, jars, pots anything that looks good. For this bathroom I will be using mirror and stone boxes, glass canisters and glass display stands. I am using glass containers in this bathroom because many of bathroom products are beautiful, such as soap, cue tips, cotton pads and make up and make up brushes. The other boxes are used for the less attractive items such as hair stretches and floss.
Once you have found all of the things you want to put on your shelves it is time to arrange them. There are two ways to arrange things on shelves. The first is symmetrically which creates a formal ordered feel. When you arrange the objects on your shelving’s symmetrically, you should not make them look exactly the same, instead use objects that reflect each other but are not-identical. The second way to arrange your decorative shelving is randomly, this way is trickier, but to make it easy, thinking colors. You will want to arrange the objects on your shelves by color. Place similar colored items staggered on the shelves to make a circle. You can see that I have created a cream circle, a white circle and a green circle.
Creating circles makes it so that your eye never rest in one place which ensures that your decorative shelving looks seamless instead of stilted and awkward. In addition to creating circles, use different types of groupings on each shelf. The variety will make your decorative shelving look much more interesting. Just look at those shelve, they are stunning but more importantly they are so easy to use. It is wonderful having everything so close to hand and yet hidden away. You will really appreciate how useful and attractive stylish containers are on your decorative shelves. I am Meghan Carter and this is Ask the Decorator.
