Hey guys! I hope you had good holidays. I don’t have time to plug in any hot tools or anything, so I just want to show you how to do a fun, little messy bun. It’s just a pretty, messy bun I guess. And then a really cool braid, look at this bad boy, really unique. All you need is your hands and your hair. So, it’s a bonus. There’s not much to it. And then obviously for the bun, you’ll need some button pins bun. It’s pretty basic. I really hope you enjoy and subscribe if you haven’t already, right here. Yellow button, all right. See you guys.
Okay, real quick. I have been traveling everywhere and so I’ve been dying to do a video and my husband and his brother just ran out with the baby real quick, so I’m like, “I got to do a video! I’ve got to do videos!” It’s been forever. But my—is almost dead, so I have to hurry.
So, my hair, it’s nighttime right now. My hair has been up all day, so I just took it out and I am going to show you real quick. I know I tend to play in a—and whatnot, so I am just going to show you real quick how to do a messy bun because I had some request on that and then a really cool braid.
So, I really—so let’s start with the braid. We’ll just use a brain on this side. I am kind of a fan of—if you haven’t seen our other videos, you can tell that you got lot of fun, different unique ways of doing braids.
So, you just take regular braids, the three strands and braid it all the way down. Okay. So, a really good friend, Tiffany Dickens. She’s the singer in a lot of our videos. Great, amazing talented girl. She’s also a hair stylist on movie sets with us and she taught us how to do this braid. She actually made it up.
So, what you’ll do is you come with the end of the braid. You got three strands like this, like your braid should have. Hold on in the middle and hold on to your middle one and push slightly up on the other. You don’t want to push too tight or too hard, just softly. And your braid will cinch right up. Can you see that? It’s really cool. So, it’s cinches out and then, you can kind of loosen it out and move around. I mean look at how awesome that is? It’s really cool looking. And then I think it’s really cool. Oh men, I got a tangle. Oh well, okay, just pretend like I don’t have that.
Normally, if I had time, I would take that out but I don’t. My—going to fall. So, just pin that back, that where you’re going to put your bun. And then, take your hair depending on your layers, your bun might look a little different but it’s still fun.
So, you got the funky braid right there. And then, just pull your hair back to side unless I like it on the side, so we’ll do it on the side. I hope my card doesn’t die. Okay, we got a lot of hair, ha? And you can kind of repin this once you get your braid all adjusted and ready. If you put your pin in towards your hair, it’s hidden. See? So, if you push it down in towards the braid, it’s hidden, so you can’t see the pin.
So now, we’ve got a side pony. You can kind of adjust it however you want. And then take your hair that’s a—and just loosely braid it. It doesn’t need to be tight, just loosely braided. And I am not going to tie it off. I am just going to do like a bun type thing. And then take bobby you’re going to need a bunch of bobby and just stab the braid however you want.
In several other videos, I’ve told you, you want to crisscross your bobby as much as you can. So, I am going to take this in. I am going to crisscross it until when I just put in. I am just trying to interlock them because that will hold it. It’s okay if you have pieces that kind of fall out. It’s okay. That’s what a messy bun’s about.
When people ask how to do a messy bun, it’s kind of hard because it’s just messy. It’s not neat. There’s not really a way of doing it. I kind of like to tweak it however I want. I kind of like looser. So, pull it and then I’ll pin it again.
So, the braid is not tight. It’s just loose. So, it almost looks looped in there. So as like messy bun with technique which is kind of what you want. You want it kind of cute but still looks like you're just good to go. That’s it. And just keep pinning until it feels like it’s sturdy. And like I said, remember, pin those pins in towards each other so that they lock, so that your button stays but the front braid, you don’t have to do braid, it’s optional, I just wanted to show you because it’s really unique and fine and people always are like, “How’d you do that?!” And it’s easy. And then be sure to set your hair, spray it. So, it’s just CHI Organic because we are all about natural products. I am just going to spray it and spray my bun and that’s it. It’s super easy and simple.
Thanks so much for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t because we’ve got lots of giveaways and more fun, unique hair styles and makeovers for you, so see you guys!
