One of the most enjoyable aspects of gardening for me is that you can enjoy what you grow in every season. I grew this Artemisia in my summer garden and now I am using it dried as the foundation for this silver and gold themed wreath. What is great about this wreath is that it is really simple to put together. First you start with a grapevine wreath. Now for the dried materials, I am using eucalyptus, of course the Artemisia, for the gold I am using flower heads of grasses and some of these seed pods Formosa lily and they continue the gold. I am using some of these dried lemons and for an exit from the summer garden, I am using some of these dried hydrangea blossoms.
Now to start with several bundles of this Artemisia and what I like to do is take them and cluster them like this by taking a piece of wire, tying them in place. Then you can come in with the Eucalyptus and tuck it in under the wires. Now the last thing I attached with wire are the lemons. I dry them first then I just pierce the back side and run a wire through them and they are easily attached to the wreath like so.
Now all of these are wired. The last three ingredients can be tucked in unsecured with some hot glue. Now, if you like more ideas on decorating with dried all natural materials from the garden, just check out our website. From the garden, I am Allen Smith.
