Hey! Guys and welcome to the third and final part of our compressor render farm tutorial. In the first two parts, we’re showing you how to set up a cluster and the second part, I mean this third part is going to show you the same thing but it seems like I've got a couple of emails from people that were having problems with the first way I show them. So I'm going to show them a second way and in fact, this is the way that I keep my machine set up. So let's go through that and get to it really quick.
I've already showed you a lot of the basic so I'll be able to move to this one a lot faster. I just went to system preferences here in Q master. Now as you can see instead of services only, I've got quick cluster with services check. Like I said before, I use Shake so don’t worry about this here. And select share just like before. The only difference being so far instead of services only, we got quick cluster with services. Select your shared, your selected instances right here, options for selected services. It’ll be just like instances in your last movies set it to three if you have a quad four or four if you have eight core, or two if you have a dual core.
Now if you have services only, I think this will say instances. If it’s quick cluster with services, I think it’s going to say options for selected services. But regardless said them one way or the other the same as you would I need the one. So now let's go through this real quick and instead of services only like the last movie, we had quick cluster with services. We have shared, we have our same number of instances set up. I'm not sure if this is different or not. Don’t quote me on that but bas you can see the instances with this movie and the last movie should be made the same. How I explain within the first two carries over to this one.
Okay, I went down here to my quick cluster. Now, since we have quick cluster with services we did in last so now we have quick cluster identify this quick cluster. It is called Eric Meek Mac Pro Cluster and I have included unmanaged services from other computers check, okay. Lock it up and go in to compressor, I have compressor set up here already have a movie and a preset set so I'm going to set my batch and our little machine, our little drop down menu will come up as before but last time we check this include on men services among on other computers. This time we’re not going to do that we’re going to go to our cluster drop down and select Eric Meek Mac Pro Cluster and yours will be called whatever you named it.
Now I want to hit submit and it’s going to go through open up my batch monitor here and I want you to look real close at my CPU usage completely cut match to the maximum. If you want to open up activity monitor if I can do it before it burns through this in encoding here. You can see down here in my CPU is just—wow really been. Well, it’s already done. That’s it. That’s how fast it was.
As you can see here's our movie right here and it’s done and that was the 720p movie. So that is the other way to do clusters. That’s how I actually keep mine set up and this was the final part in our render farm. I hope you all look forward to more because I have live videos to upload from before that I just haven’t got a chance to convert to HD yet but I'm working on it so stay tune guys.
