How to create a text message shortcut on your Android phone.
Michael Callahan: Hi! this is Mike Callahan, Doctor File Finder and welcome to your butterscotch.com tutorial on how to create a shortcut for doing text messages on your Android phone. For myself, I'm always text messaging my daughters have to be a little tedious looking them up in the context all the time, but on the Android you can create a shortcut.
So here any place where there is a blank spot hold your finger down and this menu will come up, you want to tap on shortcuts, and then this menu will come up, you're going to go on highlight, direct message, tap on that, and then I'll tap on my daughter and now on my screen I have a picture that associated with her contact, the name I have for her mobile phone and when I tap on that it's asking me what method I want to use for texting. You can also set the check mark and have a default. I will select handcent and there it is comes up ready to text. This is a quick and easy way that you can put shortcuts on your Android phone for the people that you text the most so you don't have to go through all the bother of looking them up and your context list and text messaging shortcut on your Android phone and that's all there is to it.
