How to Create a Jersey Shore Look

Audra Lowe: The Jersey Shore showcase 20 some things as they really party
their way through a seaside New Jersey Summer. Well now their
style, heavy on gravity defying hair and deeply revealing tops all
that’s catching on and believe it or not there are some ways to get
these styles without going overboard. So we set Rhiannon out to
get the Jersey shore make it over, take a look at her as she was a
good sport with this whole thing.

Rhiannon Ally: The cast of MTV’s The Jersey Shore is making their mark on
fashion. The guys are easy enough to copy with tanning, hair gel
and Ed Hardy apparel but it’s the ladies look that maybe too bold
for some. We set out to find if the Jersey Shore look is possible
without going to the deepened of sexy.

First we needed the hair. Snooky’s infamous poof has made
headlines so we headed to the salon for some mega teasing and
some hair spray. Now that the look is complete, it’s all about the
clothes. What better place than New Jersey to get the Jersey Shore
look. We met up with Dawn Del Russo, owner of Belladonna's
Boutique to get her tips on obtaining that Jersey Shore look but in
a more conservative way.

Dawn Del Russo: A good dress to start with is something with some already has
some detail on the top like this one with the gold stud detail and
you could wear two little similar necklaces gold to match the gold
or if it’s silver to silver. But it’s not just dresses that can give you
that shore flare. These are liquid leggings and these are probably
one of the hottest looks on the show right now. They look like
leather pants with they're leggings and the best way to wear this is
with a longer cup you want the cover at the back.

Rhiannon Ally: And with many of the looks being pretty fitted, you want the right
undergarments.

Dawn Del Russo: It is the key to wearing any of these outfits is to find the right
garments to wear, the first one that I suggest is specially under
some of the blouses are these—they’re called hip tees and what
they do is they cover if your shirt is too short they go a little bit
longer so you’ll wear them on your hip and this pretty lace sticks
out so it still looks like it’s still part of the shirt but your stomach is
not showing.

Rhiannon Ally: If you think some body parts are on his fit or flattering as you’d
like, there is an option.

Dawn Del Russo: These are called a bubble band and what they are is a thigh shaper
but also a booty shaper so you’ll wear this it goes right below at
the butt and it gives a little bit of lift in the back and then it also
slims the thigh.

Rhiannon Ally: As far as keeping bra straps in check.

Dawn Del Russo: If you are trying to achieve that Jersey shore style. Look for
something with a little bit thicker strap to also hide the bra straps
because you don’t want those showing.

Rhiannon Ally: Dawn also suggest the chicken cutlet type bra inserts to eliminate
the lines and help enhance the chest area. She also shows these
covers to help pull off the types of Tops, Jay Wow has been known
to wear.

Dawn Del Russo: So Snooky would wear an outfit like this. It is a sweater material
but it’s a thin lightweight sweater material so it can be worn into
the summer months without feeling too hot. It has a scoop neckline
right here which is a little bit higher up but I think it’s better for
achieving the look without being too revealing.

Rhiannon Ally: Finally, it was my time to give the style a try.

Dawn Del Russo: Wow, oh my God I can’t believe it. You look great.

Rhiannon Ally: Am I ready to join the cast already?

Dawn Del Russo: Absolutely.

Rhiannon Ally: I feel like I’m straight out of the show.

Dawn Del Russo: You definitely look like it.

Rhiannon Ally: Will someone actually wear this in real life?

Dawn Del Russo: The way we did it, it works a little bit better because the leopards
in the middle, so it draws you in. There’s black and the sides make
you look nice and slim. The way the shoulders are brings the
shoulder line into so it slims its top shoulders. Finally, pairing with
the pair of leggings keeps it from looking way too short.

Rhiannon Ally: Dawn also says burking the Jersey Shore type style is all about the
accessories. The hot trend right now is piling on the bracelets, plus
don’t forget hoop earrings as well as big bags, belts and fabulous
shoes. She also says if you don’t feel comfortable wearing animal
print clothing, try adding smaller elements like hair bows.

Rhiannon Ally: Now this is more like it I feel a little conservative for Jersey Shore
standards but I feel like this is the look that women at home would
really like.

Dawn Del Russo: It’s perfect. It achieves everything that they have but it makes you
look sophisticated and really pull together. The rouging on here is
great for adding women because it hides anything you want to hide
but it is very attractive and draws you in. A strap like this like I
said, is a thicker strap so hide you the bra strap you’re not seeing
those clear bra stripes or anything like that and the length on it
finally is right above the knee so it’s perfect.

Rhiannon Ally: It’s like I’m ready to go to dinner with my husband.

Dawn Del Russo: Yes.

Rhiannon Ally: These accessories are nice as well.

Dawn Del Russo: These accessories give it more of that fun shore look adding the
silver necklaces a little bit more, bracelets, a bigger ring. That
really gives you that look. So if you want you still want to add that
look with a nice simple black dress that you already have go with
the accessories.

Rhiannon Ally: And I wouldn’t have went for maybe a red or a black bag is this a
good color?

Dawn Del Russo: It’s perfect. it really pops it brings everything out and you’ll see
against black it really looks nice.

Rhiannon Ally: Now I think I’m ready for a trip to the Shore. For Better I’m
Rhiannon.
