If you’d like to have a certain table style applied to a table that you’re working with in Excel, but you don’t really like the preset table styles that Excel has to offer, then you can simply a custom table style just for you. And how you do this is on the home section, the home ribbon.
Go ahead and find the Style section and click on Format this table. And then down at the bottom click on New table style and you’re going to get a new table quick style box. For name, go ahead and type the name. And then down here in table element, you are going to find each different table element. And you can click on that and you can customize it. So, click on the element that you would like to customize. We’ll do the first column stripe click on the format button, and then you can go through and you have some options in border and in fill where you can set a certain fill, a certain color, a certain border whatever you want to do you can click OK. And then you’ll see over on the preview how that’s going to look. And of course, you can go in. You can format all of these as much as you want as little as you want to get exactly the type of style that you want.
If you want to clear a style, you can do that by hitting the Clear button and it will clear what you’ve done just for that element. If you want to apply the styles to the whole table then be sure to click whole table and then make your changes. If you’d like to use this table style as default, just click the set as default table quick style for this document, and then click the OK button. And so the next, time that you apply a table style, you can choose from your Custom Style.
