For cleaning dust and accumulated dirt off the sensor of a digital SLR, Tallyn’s recommends using photographic solutions, sensor swabs and eclipse cleaner.
The first step to cleaning the sensor on the Fuji S3 is to attach the AC adaptor. Next remove the lens, next find the flash synchro button and the LCD illuminator button. Push both button simultaneously and turn on the camera, then push the shutter button. The sensor is now exposed. Apply a couple of drops of the eclipse cleaner to the sensor swab. With the sensor swab, swipe the sensor from one side to the other. Flip over the swab and swipe the sensor again in the same direction. Then turn off the camera.
Sensor swabs are available in three sizes. Size one is for the Fuji S3, S2 and Canon 1D mark II N. Size two is for the Canon 30D, 20D and another APS size sensors. Size three, is for all full frame sensors such as Canon 1Ds Mark II and the 5D. These products are available in a package of 12 swabs for $48.00 and cleaner for $8.00 at the web store www.tallyns.com or by calling 1800-433-8685.
