How to Choose a Swimsuit

Rhiannon Ally: Memorial Day is right around the corner and that means, it's
almost swimsuit season but before you go screaming for the hills,
you should check out some figure-flattering swimsuits that are
made for any body shape.

Author of The Bra Book and style expert, Jene Luciani is here to
show us some of the latest styles for all shapes and sizes. And
Jene, we all have problem areas we want to hide.

Jene Luciani: Yes, I mean it's really important to remember with swimwear that
fit is the most important thing. You don’t want an ill-fitting
swimsuit and also, just to be aware of your body shape when
you're shopping for a swimsuit.

So, just like shopping for a great dress. You know, you want what
is appropriate for you. Some things are age appropriate and like
we've talked about with the body types. So, we've broken them
down today in two different body types.

Rhiannon Ally: Okay, so let's get started with the first one.

Jene Luciani: Yes. So, we have Crystal first and she is our full figured gal.

Rhiannon Ally: She looks great.

Jene Luciani: She looks amazing. This miracle suit has a really fabulous print
and it is very slimming. The sharing at the waist and the way it
crisscrosses at the top really draws attention to the thinnest part of
her body. So, the miracle suit actually makes you look a size
smaller.

Jene Luciani: Yes. This is Mary. She is the Apple or the inverted triangle as
some would call it and she really needs to create balance on the top

Rhiannon Ally: So, it draws more attention to the bottom?

Jene Luciani: It draws more attention to her bottom half, really creating that
proportion that we all strive for, that hourglass figure and that is

Rhiannon Ally: Designing them for her. Now, the next one we have is the pear
shape and this is a common shape.

Jene Luciani: The shade of the apple, yes a lot of women are bigger on the
bottom than they are on the top. So, we put her on this great swim
