How To Change Colors in Tire Tread Pattern Crochet
Okay. So I got a question on my email about changing the colors. I've demonstrated this entire pattern and you can see how I've changed the colors here. They got to be altered when it gets to finishing time to complete this project. Okay?
So, what we’re going to be doing today is that she wants to know how you changed the colors when you get to the end. So, let’s finish off this line and we are going to start with our double crochet going in to the gap just like we did all along— we’re just coming to the end.
So, two and two and then chain one and then wrap and wrap and into the gap and then through two, two and two. Okay? And now we’re going to— now they're double crochet so two and two and then chain and then wrap and wrap and into the gap pulling through two , pulling through two and two.
and what we need to do is we’re coming on to our last double crochet of the line so wrap in your material around right in to the bottom like we've shown you before and you pull through two and now you got two left on your hook just like so. And what you need to do is grab your other color and it will be white coming around.
And I kind of want to put it in a loop just like so. And what I want to do is I want to put it on to the hook pulling it through just like so and pulling a little more space there. And what I want to do is I want to cut the burgundy. So using my scissors cut the burgundy and what we want to do is just grab it and rotate our material.
Now, let’s turn it just like so. Okay. So, what we want to do is we want to chain up one like we always do before so chain up one. Okay. So, we want to keep these stragglers on top of the line so that we can fasten them into position.
So, what we need to do is start with our double crochet going into the gap pulling the two stragglers overtop and see what happens. When I grab that white, it locks the straggler into position. Following the pattern it’s a chain there and then wrap and wrap and in to the gap.
And when I go into that gap again, make sure those stragglers are caught in to position. Okay. And now, the double crochet— now, the stragglers are going further which they're probably should. Make sure you trap those in to the line until the point is, is that you can't trap them anymore because they are too short.
So, wrap and wrap and into the gap pulling through two, two and two. Okay. And what we got to just do to maintain the pattern. So, that's how you change the color. It is very simple. You didn’t see me tie any strings. Just the way that we did it, it got locks all strings in to position so you don’t have to worry about that.
So, wrap and wrap in to the gap and you're all set for doing your color changes for this particular crochet. This crochet is actually really quite something. And that’s it.
