Your car need oxygen to run properly and it only takes a few minutes to change the air filter, we will see how it's done. You should change your car's air filter every 15,000 miles. Open the hood, propping it safely. Locate the air filter, usually founds in a black plastic case on top of the engine or to the side of it. In cars with carburetors, look for the round metallic piece. Unscrew or unclamp the housing. The air filter is made of plastic or paper, surrounded by rubber. Observe the way the filter sits in the housing so that you place it back correctly. Carefully pull it out. Clean out the air filter housing with a rag, or seal the top of the carburetor and clear everything out if the bottom of the housing box.
Replace the old filter with the new one, fitting it the same way. Be sure to press the rubber gasket of the filter well into groove in the housing. Replace the cover. Avoid using the wrong size air filter, which will make your car run inefficiently. Consult your manual to determine the proper filter for your car. Close the hood and you are finished.
