Hi, my name is Joe Wise. I'm the owner of Buildwise Construction in Orlando, Florida. Today, we’re going to cover how to caulk and weatherproof your home. It’s really important that you do your routine maintenance around the house so you don’t have problem areas around your tub and sinks which will lead to damage in your home. It’s also important that you weatherproof because we all want to save energy. So, check it from time to time and make sure you weather stripping around your doors and windows are fitting properly. You don’t’ have any heat loss going out to the door.
Some of the tools are going to need an air, razor knife, a razor scraper, cleaner, brush, a sponge, pair of scissors, caulking and weather stripping that’s specific to the needs that you have. Let me talk a little bit about safety now. When you’re working in a confined space like a bathroom, like we’re in here today, you want to be very careful on using chemical cleaners. Some of the chemical cleaners are not compatible with each other. We’ll put out harmful vapors and you don’t want to mix them together so I recommend at any cleaner that you pick, that you read the label and follow the safety and instructions.
I’ve been in the remodeling business since 1979. Hold a builder’s contractor’s license and do mainly now remodels of homes, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, window siding repair in Orlando, Florida. That about covers that so now is let me show you some problem areas around the tub that we need to address.
