We would like to stress that no calculator of this magnitude could be accurate as it depends upon your actions and the actions of others around you and how it and they will affect your good time credit earned. We suggest you have a look at the prison survival book located on the front page of jailguide.com to find out how you can truly earn your good time and get out of prison safely and sailing.
With that being said to start the calculator, simply choose Yes on Federal Sentence. If you're eligible for RDAP, select Yes on RDAP. If you're unsure about the eligibility, click on the RDAP explanation page. Now, if you know your date of surrender type that in. In our example we’ll use 12/31/2011. If you served any time, place that amount in as well. Time will consist of any time you’ve spent in jail or other facility while awaiting your trial. For our example we’ll put 30 days. If you know your sentence amount, place that in the box as it’s shown. You can put in any mixture of years, months or days or simply by themselves be it ten years or 220 months or 1000 days. For our example we’ll put in 220 months.
If you are unsure of your federal sentence and want to check the guidelines and sentence structure click on the sentencing link at the bottom left of this page at jailguide.com. You’ll then be taken to a portion of the site where you can actually calculate the actual amount of time you’ll serve for a guilty for your verdict. Once you have this information listed click on the Calculate My Good Time button and you’ll be to the following calculation page.
Now remember, we put in our federal surrender date of 12/31/2011, we also told the system we served 30 days while awaiting trial and lastly we told the system we were to serve 220 months. So now can you click the Calculate My Good Time button, you'll be taken to this next page where it will actually show you your good credit time and your calculator results. On this screen, it will show that the total days we may serve are 6,688 days, your good time credit maybe 990 days and you maybe released August 7, 2027 after 5,698 days of incarceration.
