How to Buy a Washing Machine
Rhiannon Ally: Any wife or mother can tell you that in a sensual part of a successful household is getting the laundry done, glamorous right? Jeanette Pavini has some tips to consider when purchasing a new washing machine in Today’s Better Ways to save.
Jeanette Pavini: What would life be like without a washer? Well the changes in technology have made washers quieter, gentler and sometimes, less expensive than ever. When you’re choosing a washer, think about where you’ll be putting it; if it’s in the kitchen or near a bedroom, you want a quieter model than one that’s in a basement. Other things to consider, large capacity washers can handle big heavy clothes. You can choose gentle cycles for lingerie and other delicate clothing. Do you want a front loader or a top loader? Front loading washers cost a little more but they use less water and tend to get the clothes cleaner with less agitation, saving energy and wear and tear on your clothes. They also use less detergent, the only drawback they tend to be more expensive once you’re done your research, shop around for the best price, don’t forget the stores that sell last year’s model then over stocks and your energy company might be offering a rebate.
Rhiannon Ally: Good tips, thanks Jeanette. On Wednesday, we’ll learn how to save big on spa costs.
