Male: A tree house is a great place to hang out. And building one isn’t as difficult as it may look, the first and most important step, location. Pick the flattest area you can. For a tree house like ours, choose a group of sturdy trees to use as a foundation.
Then begin construction the depth. Connect the perimeter of the trees with 2 X 8s using lug bolts at every joint to fasten the timbers together. Attach the girders and floor joists and finish by attaching pressure treated plywood on top.
Next, frame the walls to your desired height. Position them on the deck then attach them together and of the decking below using galvanized nails. To finish the framing process, nail pressure treated materials on top.
Up next is the roof. First, frame out the gable in then attach ridge beams spanning the length of the roof to the gable length. For accurate roof pitch, attach the rafters to the ridge beams starting in the middle and cover with pressure treated materials.
Now it’s time for the details. Framing windows, a truss, railing around the perimeter and a ladder are a few ideas. Now your new hang out is ready for hangin’ out.
