Steve Watson: They love to entertain. They love to have people over. And they love the barbecue on the backyard but they do not have the space.
Tara Albaum: This is our problem area. We’d love to entertain back here but we don’t have enough room on our deck.
Steve Watson: We have the interlocking web brick that were going to use for the patio.
First thing, we’re going to use the sod remover which is out front, remove all the sod. And then we’ve got a leveler, level down all the dirt under there. A sod remover is a great time saving tool, and it’s fun to play with. The front blades slices the sod away from soil, leaving a piece of sod that’s easy to roll up.
Gary and Jane have about three quarters of the sod removed from the brick patio.
Tara Albaum: I’ve been sneaking heaps of them doing the patio while I’ve been inside painting. And its some, they’re really coming so far and so little time. We have rain delays and everything. And it’s going down so quickly that I can’t believe we’ve not done it sooner.
Steve Watson: Jane and Gary laying down the final bricks and edger’s for the patio.
All the bricks are down and now Gary is using the compactor to level them off. Then Jane’s going to get the patio a nice power wash.
Building a patio like this one is an easy half day project when you got the right tools and a couple of hard workers like Gary and Jane.
Jane: Hey, final piece.
Gary: I think it’s going to fit. Next.
Jane: We’re done.
Steve Watson: As you can see well it was just grass a few hours ago is now a beautiful spot for hanging out or entertaining guest.
