How to Block Computer Distractions

Welcome to Tekzilla Daily. I'm Veronica Belmont. Computers are a great productivity tool but they can also be great time sinks, having you to expect any get work done with so many great distractions just a key stroke away. Enter temptation blocker available at tempblocker.sf.net. This free little application helps you focus on the task at hand. Just select which programs are the biggest distractions and select the length of time for which you need to focus.

Then whenever you try to open those programs, you get a little notice telling you to get back to work. You absolutely must open a program that you’ve blocked. You have to enter a 32-character string before it lets you through.

So if you’ve got an essay due tomorrow or that presentation for the end of the week, you'll find yourself checking Twit deck every five minutes, just block that sucker with temptation blocker.
