One thing I hate about the adding repository is adding a stupid key and the launchpad is stupid, you have to copy this stupid block add it to a new file or text file like a G edit. Alright save that and then you add that to your software sources and then you can update and then you can get you software. You see how many steps I have to do for that and you have the money to do it.
And that’s just only for one repository, let say you’re doing like 10 or something that is just too much time, right. However, I found the script that does it automatically for you. And how it works is pretty cool. Let say you have your terminal here and you know how you update like sudo apt-get update all right, or you're updating from heoyea is the same thing. They give you some area like this right. It says GPG error here, alright.
And usually you would have to search for the stupid number on Google or something and then you can't find the key that you're looking for but that is stupid waste of time. And I have two arrows, okay so it depends on how many keys that you need but this script will find all the keys for you if it’s on launchpad or a key server I believe. So the script is here. The script is called launchpad update, right. And you have to run this as a root so if you have Afron you can run that as root or whatever, same deal. But if you want to do this as manually just right click on that thing, hit properties and in here in the permission make sure it says the executable thing is checked, okay and then hit OK and that’s pretty much it. That’s all you got to do.
And as far as the terminal, you have to run as root like I said so just type in sudo space and then drag the one that you want in, right this one that we just did, drag it in here. And now, when you run it, it should get all the keys for you, so we’re going to run it now. And it says that and those would release for using, we’re using Jaunty, right. I believe you have to edit it out if you're using encrypted or hardy, okay.
So we’re going to wait for this to do what it’s doing. Basically what it’s doing is just going and scanning launchpad.net and it’s grabbing all the keys for us and you see it’s done right. So now when we’re doing our update again it should have all the keys now so update again. And you see it’s done. It doesn’t have no more error so I love the script it does what I wanted to do.
And now you can go on update all that you need to do or install your package. So that is a convenience. I love the script and get it—I believe this is made by some guy in bunto forms, black GR so you know a full credit to him, dig it. He has one for encrypted also I was using that as an encrypted I forgot to talk about it but it’s still great you know. So go get it, it’s really a convenient saver.
