Hi, I'm Aisha with Picture Perfect Make-up and today I'm showing you how to apply ten-minute make-up for all day beauty.
Now that we've apply the eye color and evened out her complexion what we’re going to do for Theresa is give her that long lasting glow. So what we’re going to talk about first is check color. If you want your check color to stand all day the best thing to do is to use a combination of a cream and a powder so they kind of stick together and anchor down.
So what we’re going to start with is a cream blush and cream blushes come in all different shades. I'm going to use something kind of rosy that kind of matches her natural under tones. So what you're going to do is just tap a little bit of color on your finger, smile, and apply it right to the apple of the check in a really kind of light feathery motion. We don’t want to see a big clump color so what you want to do is keep it sheer and then you can always build if you want more color. You see how nice that is you just kind of get really soft color right where you want it. We’re going to do the same thing on the other side. Smile. And you want to make sure you're blending out so the color kind of disperses as you go out toward the back of the base. Great!
And that looks nice on its own because it has a really pretty dewy glow. But since we want to make sure that our make-up is going to last all day the extra step you can do is to follow up with a powder blush in the same color so like I said it will grab on and make sure it hold.
You're going to take a blush brush, pick up some color and shake off the excess. Smile again. And what you're going to do is just go right on top of what you’ve just done. Smile. So it does kind of intensify the color a little bit but it still looks super natural and very soft.
So now that we've got this gorgeous color on the checks we want to make sure that the whole look stays on, so one check that we use as make-up artist is to actually use a little bit of setting spray and setting powder. Now setting powder I'm sure you guys are familiar with, it’s basically a loose powder and you're going to use a big fluffy brush. I like to use something that’s translucent so you don’t really see it on the skin but if you want you can look for a powder that matches your skin tone.
Very lightly dust it on top just kind of protecting and smoothing out everything that you’ve already done, and then you're going to finish it off with a finishing spray. Now you can use lot of different things that are on the market, I like to use something that’s actually just pure water because it’s really gentle on the skin. And what you want to do is make sure that you're spraying far away from the skin so you're not actually wetting her face but just a light mist of water that’s going to set the make-up.
So keep the spray far away and then move it as you spray. So once it’s on there you can take your powder puff or you can use your hands and just press. Another added benefit to using a finishing spray is that not only is it going to help make your make-up stay on longer but it gives a very pretty natural glow to the whole make-up look. Because we put the powder on and the blush it starts to look a little dry so when you do the spray it gives it that more natural finish. And now she’s got a glowing skin, so now that we've done that we’re going to finish of the look with a really beautiful lip color.
