Nicole Grippo: I am Nicole Grippo, Beauty Editor of Woman's Day magazine. Welcome to 5 Min Hair.
Here is where we take one lucky woman and give her a few quick and easy tips on how to solve her hair dilemma.
Dora: Well, you know, I have very curly hair and I don't always have time to style it. I just want to glam it up, after work, when I have a special event or a cocktail party. I want to look a little different than what I look like at work everyday.
Nicole Grippo: We are here with Lola, the Senior Stylist at Gemini Salon and she is going to help us figure what we should do with Dora's hair.
Lola: We will just have the little curls added right to the front, just to get rid of the bit of the frizz and we will get a little more body into the curls, because the curls are gorgeous, especially in the back. It's not a problem. It's just the sides and the front, where most people look at you at, so you really want to make sure you have nice curls in the front.
So, what we would do is take a section. You can go big or small, but since you are learning, we will start with small first. Curling iron. Comb it through, if there would be any knots, they may got in the curling iron. Then you press the button and twist it around. Try to go as close as possible, just get the little extra frizz if you want it, and leave it on there for a couple of a seconds. Separate it and twist it again.
Nicole Grippo: And now you have two curls.
Dora: Wow!
Nicole Grippo: Are they good?
Dora: It's great!
Lola: Then it will go with the rest of the hair pushed at the back, because we have got rid of all of the frizz which is nice.
Nicole Grippo: So, Lola, I have a quick question for you. How about -- does Dora need to use any product before she uses the hot tools?
Lola: Yes, definitely. If she has clean hair and has no conditioner or leave-in conditioner, then I will suggest that she uses product, just for you to protect their ends, so that you don't start to get split ends, to protect it from the product.
Nicole Grippo: Okay. Here we are done. So we are all finished. Dora, what do you think?
Dora: I feel so glamorous.
Nicole Grippo: You look glamorous.
Dora: Thank you! Lola told me some great tips on how to use the curling iron and I am really ready to go in five minutes. So, I couldn't believe it.
Nicole Grippo: The timing was right, the look is right and you are ready to go off the door. Well, I am Nicole Grippo, Woman's Day Beauty Editor and this is 5 Min Hair. We will see you next time.
