Hi. I am Bob Schmidt with Home Remodel Workshop. Breaking into someone’s house is really a relatively easy thing to do if you do not do the proper procedures when you leave. I will show you how to take care of that.

When most people leave the house during the day, all they do is turn that bottom lock, they step out, they close the door, they check that bottom lock and then they leave. After seeing that she left and seeing that she did not used her key on the top lock, simply come in here with a credit card, and I am in.

Although this is new metal insulated door with both the keyed bottom handle and a deadbolt, most people particularly during the day when they leave, they think it is enough just to lock this bottom lock. They only lock the deadbolt at night. But as you can see, if someone is paying attention when you are leaving, they will be able to see that all you are doing is checking the bottom lock. They see that you do not use the key on this and they know that that’s an easy in for them. Don’t make your self a target, use both locks.

Upon making this video, I realized that showed a few to many close ups, I made a how to on how to break into someone’s house so I eliminated all of those. If you are a young person and you see this video, please don’t try this at home because you can damage the weather stripping or the door. But, if you see this and you see your parents or your grand parents improperly leaving the house, make sure you point it out to them and let them know how quickly someone can get in to their house after you are gone.
