Take a Historical Tour of Bermuda

Mark Jennings: Bermuda is actually a group of small islands, most of which are uninhabited. The eight main islands are connected with cos-ways and are collectible referred to as Bermuda or The Rock. 64,000 people called The Rock home and since 1815, the city of Hamilton has been the capital.

Julie Conover: Saint Georges Parish was the first settlement on the island back in 1612; its well preserved historic buildings have earned it the UNESCO world heritage site designation. Any of the beautiful old homes have remained in the same families for generations and a few even host visitors.

Mark Jennings: Tales of Saint George’s colorful former residents are still in circulation. In Kings Square on the harbor, the past comes alive with re-enactments of colonial discipline with a humorous twist.

Julie Conover: Traffic on Bermuda is kept under control with strict laws that allows only one vehicle per household. Visitors have the choice of public busses, taxis, bicycles or scooters by far the most popular way to get around.
