Rome was once the capital of one of the largest empires. Lovely antique bridges crown the city that is situated on the banks of the Tiber River. It’s impossible to walk very far without seeing the remains of great structures such as the coliseum that dates back to 72 AD.
Rome has more fountains than any city in the world. The most famous of which is the Trevi fountain. The Vatican is 106 acre estate that was completed in 1929.
The cultural roots of Italy lye in Roman civilization and traces of its early history can be found on virtually every street corner. The roman formed was built in the 1st century AD and it enjoyed its greatest prominent in the days of Julius Caesar.
Rome is very congested but Italians are a friendly group that loves people, food and wine and beautiful things. This is reflected in daily life with attractive and bustling streets. With Italian culture spread throughout the world, tourist is bound to feel at home in Rome.
