The BBC has the details. “The clot occurred under her skull behind her right ear but caused no stroke or other neurological damage.” In a joint statement, Clinton’s doctors said the clot was found during a routine MRI follow-up on Sunday. Clinton has been taking blood thinners to shrink the clot, and is expected to make a full recovery. Clinton has been recovering after fainting and suffering a concussion earlier in December. A doctor with NYU’s Medical Center spoke to NBC’s Today show about how a concussion can lead to a blood clot. “If she was in bed for a long time, immobilized after surgery or people on long plane rides because they’re not moving very much, they can develop blood clots.”  Politico notes this isn’t the first time Clinton has had a blood clot, saying... “In 1998, doctors found a large clot behind her right knee and she later told the Daily News that it was ‘the most significant health scare’ she had ever faced.” Sources report Clinton was initially scheduled to return to work this week before being sidelined with a stomach virus which may have caused her to faint and suffer a concussion. Sources clarify that the clot is not in Clinton’s brain and that she is expected to make a full recovery.
