This time for a blood clot doctors found during a follow up exam for a concussion she sustained earlier this month. Here’s the BBC with more. “Doctors say it’s linked to a fall earlier this month which was as a result of dehydration following a stomac h virus. Mrs. Clinton is expected to remain in hospital for at least two days.”   In a statement, Clinton’s spokesman said: “Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concu ssion… They will determine if any further action is required.” The specific location of the clot and exactly what caused it to form is not clear, but Forbes reports — “People who are on bed rest, or who sit for long periods, may be prone to clots. So it could either be directly related to her concussion, or the result of the bed rest associated with her recuperation.” But even health can become political in Washington. The secretary was set to testify before Congress about the September 11th attack in Benghazi when her earlier concussion forced her to cancel. Critics have been asking whether she was faking it in order to avoid the hearings.   Tea Party darling and outgoing Florida Republican Representative Allen West suggested Secretary Clinton had the quote “Benghazi flu.” And a commentator on Fox News suggested something similar, saying— “Former U.S. ambassador calls this a ‘diplomatic illness’ and we heard from Victoria Newnan that it’s a bad bug. I think that perhaps it’s a Benghazi allergy.” But Mrs. Clinton is the most traveled secretary of state in history, and Sky News points out a different possible reasoning behind the self-proclaimed workaholic’s illness. “Secretary of State Clinton has flown almost a million miles since taking office four years ago and spent some 400 days on a plane. She’s visited 112 countries in that time.” Clinton is expected to recover. Her tenure as secretary of state will come to a close next month, when her nominated successor John Kerry will take her place.
