Dame Helen Mirren received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (January 3). The 67 year-old actress won a best actress Academy Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen." Mirren received her first Oscar nomination for her portrayal of another queen, Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III in the 1994 film "The Madness of King George." The actress poked fun at her portrayal of royals on screen and the coincidence of the placement of the star of King George VI portrayer Colin Firth next to her own. SOUNDBITE Helen Mirren saying (English): "Everyone was very shocked to discover that the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen slept in separate bedrooms. Well I'm very pleased and proud and I think it's very good for the British monarchy that here on Hollywood Boulevard, the King and the Queen are going to actually sleep together, for the rest of history. I couldn't be prouder and more happy that I'm actually going to finally lie next to Colin Firth, something I've been wanting to do for a very long time." Her other Academy Award nominations were for her roles in the mystery comedy-drama "Gosford Park" and the 2009 biographical drama "The Last Station." Mirren's other honors include six Emmy nominations and two Emmys. She can currently be seen in movie theaters in "Hitchcock," that has brought her nominations for Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards.
