Hair Styling Tips
Gregg Giannillo: First thing first though, we really need to think about the texture opposed to be cut. You’re handling it properly by going at the cut. That’s really an important thing but the hair texture that you have will never get to the look that Christian Bale has.
That's a real straight look. So, I would suggest that you take a look on your local area and find a hair texturizer but you can find it in your local drugstore and apply it and get your hair to a smoother, less curly, a little bit more relaxed texture.
Starting there, I think you’ll really gain a lot more manageability of the hair that you currently have and the cut that you currently have although you might to alter it a little bit starting with the little bit of lengthening the front that you pulled away down to the bottom, try up here. That’s your tip for the today.
Audra Lowe: If you want Greg to help with your hair questions, just send him an email at askgregg@better tv.com.
All right, now it’s time for some better beauty and we’re always looking to get the most bang for your buck. So the next time you're out buying a ton of products that serves a single purpose, you might want to re-think all of that.
Beauty expert Candace Corey: is here and she’s got some ways. We’re kind of double duty things right here Candice?
Candace Corey: Yeah, definitely.
Audra Lowe: Double up on the products, the first thing you’re here to talk about is really kind of build up on the used products that can have serve the more purpose, right?
Candace Corey: A lot of times you’ll have th8ings at home that you don’t realize that you can actually use for double purposes. For example, this is from CoverGirl Queen Collection and they have great foundations. The great thing about their foundation is they’re buildable, that means that you don’t necessary need to have a concealer and a foundation especially if you have a lot discoloration on your face. Usually you have to put concealer on face and foundation. Because it’s buildable, you could put on sure where you need it. And when need a little bit more, just pat and it covers. The way you need to as supposed to having tons and tons of products so—
Audra Lowe: No matter what your skin tone is—
Candace Corey: No matter what skin tone or skin type you have. And the great thing about this is that Queen Latifah designed it. You know how she has that like clean look so she made a point to suggest a fact is buildable so that way you have to have a lot of product.
But another thing you can do is that— you know you have your winter color and your summer color. With your powders, you could actually use them as eye shadows.
A lot of times, I suggest that you pat on. And if your colors for your powders are buildable, they’re great to be really natural. And then when you want a little bit more for the crease, you can use a deeper shade that you use for your summer shade and you have something natural that you don’t have to get another eye shadow for. So, you save money on that.
Audra Lowe: Well, Queen Latifah’s skin is beautiful so thank you Queen. I appreciate that.
Now, the cleansers, the toner, there’s also multiple service purposes for these too?
Candace Corey: Right. A lot of times when we get our skin regimen it’s usually cleanser toner moisturizer. We can cut out the toner by using something like the Olay Double Action Cleanser and Toner together.
Now, what I really love about this is it’s not only as a cleanser and a toner but it also exfoliate your skin too. So, if you’re a guy, this is fantastic because it has salicylic acid in it so it helps keep your skin smooth.
Audra Lowe: It’s really a four products in one when it boils down to the—
Candace Corey: Actually one more because it has a cucumber and menthol extract in it so it actually soothe the skin. So if a guy uses after shave, it’s great for that too. So, the wife can have it and the guy can have it when shaving.
Audra Lowe: Now airbrush, it makes— I love, love, love airbrush because you don’t have to sit here and use the sponge to put on your make up. And this one is like what? Three in one?
Candace Corey: The great thing about the TEMPTU Airbrush is that if you have oily skin or even when you have wrinkles, the good thing about it is it’s a silicon base. It gives the skin a very light color but it looks natural. It seems it is silicon base. It absorbs excess oil and – the line so you don’t need to have the powder all day and you don’t need a primer for wrinkles.
Audra Lowe: Best invention ever. All right, and now let’s go over here to this blow dry. I going to turn it on because there’s a little light action here going on. Can you explain why this is so important?
Candace Corey: Well, the great thing about that, this is the Pro Silk Infrared Blow Dryer. And that light that you saw right there, that actually penetrates your hair and your scalp so it acts like a treatment so it actually makes your scalp hold moisture so when you get a problem with dandruff, it corrects it.
Audra Lowe: You saw me— I see a red light pointing at you, that’s a whole lot of problem, an issue with—
Candace Corey: It’s a good thing. So, it dries your hair and dries off 50% faster so you use less energy and actually has low electromagnetic frequency. Most traditional blow driers equals six cellphones to your head so you want to slow on your – so it’s not high powered.
Audra Lowe: All right, good stuff. Thank you so much—
Candace Corey: And the last—
Audra Lowe: We actually ran out of time. I'm so sorry.
Candace Corey: Oh, I'm sorry.
Audra Lowe: You got to stick around and talk to me about it though. But if you guys want to see, we’re always—
