Hair Style- Ted Gibson- Lela Rose- Fashion Week NY Fall 2010
Kristin: Hi! This is Kristin Booker from Fashion Style Beauty for inside the tent Style Coalition sponsored by Sorel. We’re here with the amazing Ted Gibson backstage with Lela Rose and we’re going to talk to him a little bit about the hair look. Ted, can you tell us a little bit about the hair look for the show?
Ted: Well, you know right now, I’m putting a little bit of baby powder and to make the smell good no joke. What I’m doing is I'm actually creating I think kind of a messy, classic girl. That’s a girl where actually got a French twist in all the girls and with that French twist everything is kind of messy and not so overdone. So it’s not smooth. It has a lot of texture to it. Normally French twists go straight up from the head but this is going to the side so it’s a little funky and makes it a little bit younger. The products that we used, we use to build with a bar. We also used fix a gel and then we’ll use my hairspray, beautiful hairspray to hold it in place and spray.
Kristin: So she looks amazing right with her hair. Fabulous! So for regular woman we want to create this really quickly, how will they do it?
Ted: Well the most important thing is for the product. The product is the most important thing in order to get that volume and texture that you want and then the actual French twist is important because you’re not twisting it from the bottom. You're twisting it from the top. That’s where of this kind of strange look. I think our French twist is modern now because of the texture as well as where the position of the twists.
