Hi, I am Dave Epstein this is Growing Wisdom and I have got a very quick tip for you it is about hydrangeas. Many of you emailed me how do you get your hydrangeas to be blue. Hydrangeas when you buy them it will say this is blue this is pink to get the blue color to come out of a blue hydrangea you really want to have the soil a little bit acidic. and to do that you want to lower the PH of the soil and what I like to use is a little bit of aluminum sulfate follow the directions put the aluminum sulfate on and keep your soil PH between above 5 and 7. What you do not want to do is lower the PH to much you will cause problems with your plants. You would cause problems with them being able to absorb the nutrients. You would cause problems with the plant just basically beginning to fail so what I suggest you do is do a PH test. You came and just get the home kit like I have here and just test the PH in that way you will know how much to apply and just looked at the color of this. They are amazing they are so blue they are so beautiful and they really standout so nicely in the summer garden aluminum sulfate quick tip keep you hydrangea nice and blue come back every week for all of our tips and some helps at GrowingWisdom.com.
