Greenspark Biofuels for Restaurants on Site

We are at Greenspark biofuels and some of these recycling. We’re doing on-site production for restaurants of biofuels. And that's what this contraption is over here. This basically allows restaurants to take their waste vegetable oil, throw it in this modern looking grease bin and process clean biofuel that they can run directly in their diesel engines. The restaurants can take advantage of numerous states and federal tax incentives for producing biofuels, which ultimately makes every gallon of waste vegetable oil. It could be worth up to $7.00 a gallon to the restaurant owner.

Basically, what happens is waste vegetable oil gets poured into this first settling and dewatering bin. It gets heated up to about 150 to 180 degrees then it gets transferred over automatically into the centrifuge drum. The centrifuge actually polishes this fuel down to a higher quality spectrum of diesel fuel that you actually get out of the pump at your average filling station.

You can literally pump it directly into your car. If you drive a diesel, what you come out with which was previously nasty, dirty, disgusting vegetable oil, now comes out as this clean, beautiful clear, particle-free and moisture-free fuel that you can put right into your car.

These vehicles were originally actually designed to run on vegetable oil if you can believe it or not. Rudolf Diesel, his original prototypes are running on peanut oil. Any diesel can run on vegetable oil. You have people converting cars from old turbo diesel Mercedes from the 60’s and 70’s. It only puts out as much carbon as was fixed by the plants that produce the vegetable oil in the first place.

It’s a renewable resource that as long as restaurants are frying, there’s going to be pretty much an endless supply of the stuff.
