Female: Going green is one of the hottest trends in bridal and there are plenty of ways to get the gap gown of your dreams and be eco-conscious.
Kate: The easiest way and the way to get sort of the exact dress that you’re looking for is to buy it once worn. I really encourage brides to go in, try on a bunch of dresses, find the one they love and then hop on eBay or dress market or something like that and get it at once worn because it’s a form of conversation.
Female: In 10 I’ buying a brand new dress you can still be eco conscious by paying attention to the material used in the gowns.
Kate: Like we get cotton or hemp or hemp silk blend utensil which is sort of a wood pulp because it’s really, really soft and there are a lot of designers out there that are working with these materials and making beautiful, beautiful dresses.
Female: On such designer making a name for herself in the world of eco conscious design is Jessica Iverson who’s eco-cotour line proves you don’t have to sacrifice style to be green.
Jessica: I love the term eco sheek because that’s what we’re striving for. A large part of what makes this collection eco friendly is the fabrics. We have a wonderful hemp silk. It’s great because it takes the renewable, sustainable eco friendly aspects of the hemp fiber and has all the advantages of silk, the luster, the sheen.
Female: Other wedding dress designers like Adelle Wexler and Chris Cole are also creating extraordinary wedding gowns out of environmentally friendly materials. Chris Cole’s beautiful Collection the Cotton Bride and Adelle Wexeler’s sensational Eco-Cotour collection are both created from natural fibers.
