Hi there I’m Stacy Reed and I’d like to tell you about some ways that you can customize your Firefox browser with green add-on’s that can help you save resources like time energy and even paper.
So to start things of, let me tell you about a little add-on called green. Here is how it works. You install the add-on to your browser and that’s basically it. You just browse the internet like you normally would. That’s because green uses the money from the ads that you see and the websites that you normally visit to finance the development of clean energy sources and fun environmental efforts. There are no buttons to click or sites that you have to visit and it’s a lot of fun to check up on the progress that you’ve made as an individual and the collective whole.
Up next is an energy saving extension called Blank Your Monitor and this makes text reading and Firefox easier on the eyes by inverting the use of white and black colors. For instance, when Blank Your Monitor in turned on, you’ll see your text appear as white over black background.
Heres another great add-on for you, Fasterfox will help save time and energy because of its unique mechanism, which recycles bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are currently browsing. It’s getting rave reviews from its users too so go ahead and check this one out.
And lastly, Smart Print is a Firefox extension that can help you save paper and ink by analyzing the documents content and removing unnecessary components like menu items. It also let's you adjust margins that way you don’t end up wasting paper on a couple of lines of insignificant text or images that are found in the bottom of a web page. That’s also going to speed up the printing process too and ultimately it wastes less energy.
We’ll those are just a few of the ways that you can customize Firefox to work faster and more efficiently. Not to mention more environmentally concious as well. You may think that there’s not really much that one person can do but by saving energy and resources as a community we can cut back considerably on the amount ofd harmful pollutant that are released into our atmosphere. Together I believe that we could make a real difference.
