Great Gift Ideas for Father's day
Female: And if you love your dad but you don’t want to spend more than can afford this Father’s Day, Jeannette Pavini has some great ideas for gifts in today’s Better Ways to Save.
Jeannette Pavini: When it comes to buying gifts for dad he probably doesn’t need another tie but there are plenty of other things he’d like and none of them will break the bank. So if you're handy with the computer you can set up a website for your dad, you and your family can upload pictures, greetings and memories to the site and you can find free sites online.
You can also find discounted tickets to sporting events and entertainment online. Most major cities have discount ticket outlets, reserve a night out with dad and just surprise him. Tickets to minor league baseball are also fun and very affordable.
Bake dad his favorite treats. You can whip up a batch of cookies, biscuits, or brownies pack with goodies in a container that he’ll appreciate. A golf bucket with cookies and a few golf balls, an empty popcorn bucket with some movie tickets or calendar with the makings for an entire meal would round out the homemade treats. And checkout your local bookstore for clearance tables, you can save up to 75% off of books that cover everything from sports to history.
And finally one of my favorite gifts is time and attention and most dads just love this. You can find coupons online for Father’s Day gift like an hour of quiet time, a shoe shine, a walk or a carwash. You might even want to give him more than just one.
Female: On Monday Jeannette will tell us how to save on bridal wear.
