ERIC STROMER: Ready for another GMC Trade Secret? I’m Eric Stromer.
Replacing a broken tile on a roof may seem daunting at first, but it’s really quite simple. I’m going to show you how.
First, make sure you have a secure spot to work. Make sure your ladder is centered and on solid ground.
Most tile roofs are not nailed down. Instead they sit behind horizontal boards that run across the roof. Slide a flat bar underneath the top tile and to the right of the tile you want to replace. Slide another flat bar underneath the tile to the left of the tile you want to replace.
Now that the surrounding tiles are not resting on the tile you want to replace, it’s really quite simple to just lift that tile up, slide it out, and replace it with a new one.
It’s as simple as that.
I’m Eric Stromer. That’s your GMC Trade Secret. Go out and replace a tile.
