ERIC STROMER: Hey, I’m Eric Stromer. Here’s your GMC Trade Secret.
Now, this door was really riddled with some dry rot and rain damage. So instead of replacing the door, I used Bondo or body filler to quickly and easily make that patch and make this thing look seamless on the back end of this job. Bondo or body filler is the same stuff that auto body guys use to fill in dents, crevices or holes, and it works fantastic on wood projects just like this door right here.
All you have to do is channel out the old dry rot or existing termite damage, fill it with Bondo, sand it, prime it, paint it. A brand new door that would have cost hundreds of doors is repaired just as easily with a can of Bondo or body filler for just about seven bucks.
