Jason: Today’s desperate destination is on Parker Street where historic homes are the rule not the exception, but there is one 1892 Victorian breaking some neighborhood rules when it comes to successful rehabbing and the man responsible for the mess is a pretty easy target. He’s six foot five inch tall John Jame who stands out in the street for a variety of reasons beyond his size. Neighbors say John is a super nice guy and an energetic rehabber who has been trying to restore this Victorian Jail. So, all the neighbors landscape look like this. John’s looks like this.
John: John’s landscaping, he goes in headstrong and say, “I'm going do this”, and when he puts it together you’re just kind of like, ”I don’t know about that”, like “maybe next time”. I just try to ignore it.
Jason: John take a look at the plant.
John: Looks great!
Jason: We are going to clear out the messy landscape in front especially those nasty weeds. We’re building and installing new railings on the front porch, the rod iron fence is repaired and painted then we’ll bring in hundreds of plants in front and behind the fence. We’re doing all this in just eight hours. We want the neighbors to be surprised with this transformation so I’d ask them all to stay away until we’re finished so no peeking.
John: My head is shaking no but my mind is saying yes.
I think the neighbors, I think they’re going to have to start to learning to not put their hand up like this when they walk or drive by.
Adrian: Oh my Gosh. Oh, that is to die for. Oh my goodness I'm serious, this is awesome, totally awesome. I can't believe it. It’s such a trans formation.
John: It is simply amazing.
Small upgrade what do you think?
John: It’s amazing. With that small space, I didn’t think this was possible but it’s amazing how many plants and what’ been accomplished, that’s really good
