Funerals for the Aurora shooting victims have begun.

 

One of the first known victims of the shootings, 24 year-old Jessica Ghawi was an aspiring sports reporter. Her service is set to be held in San Antonio where she grew up.

 

“She’s a fiery red head. She’s passionate. There are so many word to describe her and none of them are negative. She had a passion for life and it showed.” (Video source: WVIT )

 

One of the victims who saved a loved one from being shot, Matthew McQuinn had just recently moved to Colorado last fall from Ohio.

 

“A hero whose last living act was shielding his girlfriend from gunfire during that shooting. He’s being buried in Springfield, Ohio.” (Video source: CNN )

 

And Navy Officer John Larimer who also jumped in front of his girlfriend at the theatre was remembered with a private service in his hometown of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

 

“They have paid final respects to that Navy sailor...He was stationed in that area while working as a Navy technician. The youngest of five children, Larimer graduated from Crystal Lake South High School in 2003.” (Video source: ABC News )

 

Eighteen-year-old Alexander Boik was laid to rest in Aurora, Colorado.

More services have been planned for those killed in the shootings.
