Fried Green Beans
Gina: Now we are going to get started on our fried green beans. So we are going to use one pound of green beans, we got to use the whole thing. We can get started on these.
Pat: And we just cut off the woody stems on each end and the good thing about, they’re always like about green beans that you can do relatively quickly. Just line them up.
Gina: I knew you’re going to say that.
Pat: Green beans brings back so many great memories from the old school you know, one of the fondest memories I had, Gina is her grandmother. Always was in the kitchen.
Gina: I am going to tribute to that now. She is just kind of snapped them off.
Pat: And she was just Momma Kelly.
Gina: I love that old lady. I mean she was just the best for she would always tell you stuff that you did not want to hear when you need it to hear and she would always say that is a little, you know what I am talking about when you lay your hair down in that pillow. But you might can’t hear me now but wait until you go to bed. And that is so true. I mean so many things about her that I just resonated within me.
And now we are going to make our butter for our green beans. So I got the flour, Pat’s going to get something else to go with that and we got to always have our salt and pepper. You do not get the wrong, I did now. We’re stir frying green beans, that is not beer and T.V. time.
Pat: Well I just taught that you know.
Gina: I know that is what you thought. So I’m going to get your Mom right now.
Pat: Well I just taught that you know…
Gina: Well since you’re so excited about that beer; pour me a one cup of beer for me. How about that? And I am going to add one cup of flour in each got a cup, a big cup better be a cup.
Pat: Got a cup. That is a cup. It just faces down to a cup.
Gina: And one cup of flour. Then I am going to add two teaspoons of salt and we are going to add in a half a teaspoon of black pepper, a couple of swishes.
Pat: Now we just are going to whisk this all together.
Gina: I’m surprised you’re not trying to put any cayenne in here. So we’re going to whisk it all together. They’re going to be green French fries.
Pat: And we are frying in peanut oil at 375 degrees.
Gina: We fry everything in this house. If it’s walking on in here is going in the pot of peanut oil. Do not come in our house you will be in some peanut oil before you know it. So we just go to throw those in.
Pat: We are just go and right in here and we are going to work them around. This is really a thick butter so just kind of shake off the excess.
Gina: Can you just find a green bean.
Pat: Oh Gina look at there.
Gina: We’d loved green bean, because I grew up in a lot of green bean. My mom will put them in ham hot. She put them in no potatoes and always like in a big stove with some salt and pepper and they were the best thing to eat. If you do not have a frier you can just put them right in the skillet on top of the stove, cover it with peanut oil, so these babies in there in either way. He is reading my mind, so let get some thong. You better stay out of my head.
Pat: We will be on this kitchen too long to get anyway. Here we go look.
Gina: Those are perfect.
Pat: It is great. Wow!
Gina: That is going to be so nice. Let me get some more ready for you. Those look awesome. Slide up down so they can come to the season stored.
Pat: That beans look great.
Gina: Oh! Yes! Yes! Yes! Little salt, a little pepper, let’s taste while hot. This is great.
Pat: This is great way to get your kids to eat green beans.
