WABC and KMEG have the details. “Capt. Rick Abben won't confirm yet if these are the bodies o 9-year-old Elizabeth Collins and 11-year-old Lyric Cook-Morrissey who disappeared nearly 5 months ago... but detectives were clearly discouraged by what they found.” “The families … have been notified that these remains are being transported for positive ID by the state medical examiner. ” Hundreds of volunteers searched Evansdale and its surrounding area for the two girls for weeks this summer, but never found a significant lead. “Lyric Cook Morrissey and her cousin Elizabeth Collins were last seen by their grandmother riding bikes in Evansdale. Those bikes were found abandoned just a few hours later...” The girls’ families have asked for some privacy as the identification process begins.
