(Image:  Twitter )   BY MEGAN RICE   Former Florida Governor is changing his colors for a third time. Here’s Bay News 9 and WTHR with the story. Bay News 9: “Former Governor Charlie Crist is officially going officially going blue! Crist tweeted last night -- that he was ‘proud and honored’ to join the Democratic party. Crist served Florida as Republican governor... then ran for U.S.  Senate with no party affiliation.” WTHR: “He included a photo of himself, holding up a Florida voter registration application. (FLASH) Crist supported president Obama's re-election campaign and spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.” But not everyone is as happy with the switch as much as Crist. A columnist for WLRN writes ... “...there's an angry personal element to this that transcends ordinary politics, probably because Crist was once a Republican governor and the darling of his party. But now he's a cheating rat.” And Republican State senator Lenny Curry is quoted saying, “We don’t want to see Charlie Crist back in office, particularly in a position of leadership. It wouldn’t be good for Florida, regardless of your ideology.” CNN tell us we can expect to see more of Crist in the future. “Crist ran for the U.S. Senate as an Independent in 2010, but was defeated by Marco Rubio. Some are speculating this move is in preparation for another run for governor against Rick Scott.” That hypothetical gubernatorial race would take place in 2014.
