Ferrets on steroids are sold as toy poodles. In the market for a dog? Just make sure you get what you ask for.A market in Argentina sold what was advertised as dogs. The buyers later found out their canines were actually fluffy ferrets on steroids. One pensioner purchased two poodles, which were described as pedigree puppies. When he took his new pets to the vet, he was informed that they were actually ferrets that were given drugs at birth to increase their size. The animals were also specially groomed to make the coats resemble a toy poodle's. Another woman bought what she thought was a Chihuahua, but she later discovered it was a ferret. Pedigree puppies can sell upwards of $700 while ferrets typically go for about $70, meaning there is a huge room for profit among scammers. Bizarre counterfeit goods are everywhere. Recently, fake walnuts were sold in China. They looked like normal nuts, but a rock or concrete piece was lodged between the shells. The sellers apparently placed the concrete piece in between the shells and sealed the husk back together with glue.
