Eclectic and Modern Chic Loft
ColorSplash With David Bromstad
David: I’m going to meet Corry and Mike Shaw great news is their loft is like 5 blocks away from mine so it’s super convenient. Bad news is doing makeovers in lofts are or kind of spaces is really difficult. You’re dealing with stairs, elevators, potentially crazy neighbors and always there’s never a place for Ian to work.
Wow this is cool.
Corry: And I really like Hollywood plan.
David: I got very over the top plans with this makeover. Are you guys afraid of heights?
David: Unfortunately however big project always equal big problems.
Corry: Bathroom is broken for where is the painting.
Ian: We’re totally wedged.
I’ am to check the truck to see if we can pull them through this window right here.
Mike: Probably right the windows.
Ian: Joe slow down.
Mike: There’s a lot of problems with lofts.
David: They’re saying what can I do designing lines and because everything is opened up to every other room and there’s usually like a pillar or something, or two pillars.
Corry: Two pillars or two stories, we would like to keep the colors in the walls fairly neutral so.
David: Neutral being like neutral brown, neutral gray?
Corry: I kind of like the whole gray a warm gray
Mike: Whatever keeps the natural off steel it? I don’t know what color that would be.
David: Style wise are we looking at keep with contemporary kind of modern furniture or are we looking to.
Corry: Modern and I really like the old school Hollywood plan I think that that’s just kind of a pull.
Mike: Are we talking like weird tables or side tables.
Corry: Light paired a little bit of zebra maybe.
Corry: And then I like to go a little bit more dramatic with curtains.
Mike: I think even just putting the same curtains right there and it’s great drama central.
David: You can see whose running the interior design ship here.
Mike: Yes I could see that.
David: So the definite needs that we have near obviously is a place for the TV and then what else needs to happen in here.
Corry: The couch is huge.
David: It takes up a lot of space.
Corry: It does.
David: So you think if we can replace the couch and can put maybe 2 more chairs over here a really cool bench over here it’s a great space lots of room for drama I love it.
Check it out
Mike: Oh my God. Wow.
Corry: This is ridiculous.
This is amazing David.
David: Come here come and join see everything.
Corry: I can’t.
David: This is what we do.
Corry: This is just to die for. I can’t.
David: The gray color is so fantastic it’s calming it’s serene it fits the loft style but it also brings a lot of elegance to this base.
Mike: The different colors are just perfectly good the curtains.
Corry: The curtains are perfect.
David: Dramatic. Is it too much clamor for you?
Mike: It’s actually not.
David: Oh good, good that’s good factor. And we have our naughty rug beneath our feet which you guys don’t even notice which is so cool because it is such a dramatic piece but because everything else is so dramatic then you really you notice that next.
We got rid of your—and we gave you just a plain couch. It’s clean, it’s classic it will stay with you throughout the years. put some great pillows on there and you guys get entertain the core as you want but that really set the challenge. To me it’s just time for me to move this in front of the windows because I can watch TV without having a glare and a BMW is fantastic.
Corry: And I love it, if they’re all white actually because it got so much color in the wall it’s great.
