Dress for Success

Audra: Well didn’t pack out that rat race is pretty tough especially in these
difficult times but three women got a little help from actress
Kristen Bell and designer Robert Burney. Better Fashion expert
Lauren Ezersky was in Union Square for the entire makeover.

Lauren: What does marshals and dress for success have in common? Well
you are going to find out.

Both of you are basically were out of jobs is that it how kind of
originally started?

Sharrie: I was laid off and came to dress for success, I got suited and within
three months I was employed.

Lauren: So it really does make a big difference in your life?

Sharrie: Absolutely and now I am very involved in the organization that
means so much to me.

Eunice: This has motivated me greatly because of the attire. The
presentation of walking in and dress appropriately – it did wonders
for me.

Lauren: I really think that if you looked good, you feel good and you do
project – confidence and that really helps don’t you think?

Sharrie: Absolutely looking the part, definitely help me to walk in to my
interview and feel like I had it.

Vanea: I was unemployed and transitioning from another program and I
got an internship and during my internship. I got higher so I
needed clothes and so that is how I got involved – I went for a
week worth of clothing. And often times tell people the only thing
that is missing from the experience is the spa treatment of having
your nails done. Maybe a glass of champagne.

Lauren: She is a diva already – champagne? How some diamonds from
Harry Winston like come on.

Vanea: Well that is kind of okay of with that too, you get jewelry and
bags. They give you the full treatment.

Lauren: Well you know what if you get that, you let me know because I
need that – I need a spa treatment.

Vanea: I will hook you up.

Lauren: It was really empowering wasn’t it?

Kristen: Well I mean I think that you know, you got to see all the new
spring fashion Trance Marshal has but also we are here to sport
dress for success which is amazing empowering company that gets
women into the work place and to feel confident about it. And
Marshals gave very generous donations so all these women. They
dress over 500,000 women can have the clothes where they feel
confident in the work place.

You know women need to feel beautiful and need to feel confident.
And I think giving the tools for fashion makes them feel capable
and confident and responsible and able to sort of move up in the
work place.

Lauren: I love that you are doing is I have to say because I think clothing is
so empowering for women and for men – for everybody. When
you put on something great, you feel great is this natural?

Robert: A 100% in which why this is such a great match because I think
the women who are getting back into the work place needs to have
affordable fashion. Because they know they are going to feel
confident when they put it on, for the greater part of history –
fashion was for the rich. And now it has become very democratic
and you know fashion is a complete and total personal expression.
It tells, it says a lot about; it is your voice before you actually open
you mouth.

Because people start to – they look at you and they have an
opinion about you whether you are approachable. Whether you are
unapproachable, it is your voice.

Lauren: Do you feel gorgeous?

Eunice: I feel great. I feel pretty.
