Doodling app Draw Something has made a few tweaks by popular demand. CNN reports.

“As promised, the popular pictionary-style game has been updated to add commenting, the ability to save drawings to your photo library, and the ability to share drawings on Facebook or Twitter directly through the app.”

News.com reports the CEO of OMGPOP — the company behind the game —  said the ability to chat or comment was one of the most desired features of the game, but adding it wasn’t easy.

“‘Chat is a big part of the plan, but tricky because you don’t want to break the guessing cycle of the game’. “The comment feature now shows up on the ‘Drawsome!’ page of the game after you’ve completed guessing your opponents’ word.”

And CNET explains the other added feature — saving.

“After you finish your drawing and touch done, the app brings up a field so you can send a comment along with it. Once sent, you go on to another screen that lets you post your drawing to Twitter or Facebook, or you can touch a disc icon to save it to your camera roll.”

But the app makeover doesn’t stop at saving drawings or sending comments. There’s now an “easy undo” function that erases the last stroke.


And the streak limit has been increased from 99 to 999.

How are doodlers responding to the update? A blogger for Appolicious says it was unclear what would happen after gaming giant Zynga recently picked up Draw Something — but so far, so good.

“As a total addict I was wary of what Zynga might change. I didn’t want to see the game become monetized or cheapened, but I have to admit I’m impressed....The only drawback to the update is that there is a lot of extra tapping to opt in and out of chat.”

What’s next for Draw Something? The Guardian reports right now the game  is only available in English and the company is working to make native speaking versions — and there is also talk about turning Draw Something into a possible TV game show. As of right now the newest version of the app is available for IOS and Android only.
