A little further down the coast in Busan, Korea’s most important port, the Jagalchi Fish Market which is an eclectic many block mix of fishmongers and restaurants where fresh is the reality. It’s the largest fish market in Korea and within the big market are sections for shellfish, fish, dried fish, and every other form of sea creature one can imagine. There’s been a fish market here for many years but during the 30s, it took form, resembling some sort of organization to the chaos of independent vendor. In 2006, the entire flavor changed with a new building, structure and higher rent which in some cases forced vendors out of the market and onto the street or out of business entirely. Even with all the change, this is still the real deal and a true look at Korean commerce at its finest. [demo] A few blocks away, what is often called the Russian Market, where everything else but fish is for sale.
With over 45 years of experience working in 40 countries, the South Pole and North Pole, the Watts present their travel, fly fishing and cooking videos.
