Then to one of my favorite little communities, Rudesheim. It’s a romantic river town often overrun by visitors especially in summer. It’s said to be one of the best known wine towns in the world and there are vineyards and winery right in Rudesheim and all around it. Tourists pour in here on buses, cars and on Rhine cruises to visit the shops, the wine bars and the restaurants, especially down the well travelled Drussel Gosa. It’s almost always packed with people. Down the street is Bramserberg, it’s the oldest castle on the Rhine. It’s more than 1000 years old. At night, there’s plenty of local color too, wine, food, music and dancing and everybody, I mean everybody gets into the act.
