Dani Marco: When you travel the world and sip some of the finest champagne, you might think you’ve experienced everything. From the creators of Lore and—House in New York City, this is a dazzling and glamorous China Town Brasserie where mythology is an art form and I’ve been waiting for this all day.

And behind me is a trendy, trendy bar, China Town Brasserie. What we have for today?

Rainlove Lampariello: We’ll make great drinks. I think the first we’re going to make for you is a drink that David Bailey drinks.

Dani Marco: David Bailey.

Rainlove Lampariello: It’s in oldest table, it’s the Jade Goddess.

Dani Marco: Jade Goddess, I like that sound.

Rainlove Lampariello: We pretty much do everything like seasonal. So right now, we’re working with—which is delicious ice cream.

Dani Marco: Wow.

Rainlove Lampariello: That’s the Jade comes in. I think we will make it.

Dani Marco: We?

Rainlove Lampariello: Yes we.

Dani Marco: Alright.

Rainlove Lampariello: So, we’ll start off, get a glass.

Dani Marco: I’m just filling it everywhere inside.

Rainlove Lampariello: Yeah. That’s okay.

Dani Marco: I haven’t even had any.

Rainlove Lampariello: I’m going to put a little soda in that glass, a couple of chunks of mint there. This, we use Agua Luca Cachaca.

Dani Marco: Hold on, Agua Luca Cachaca.

Rainlove Lampariello: Yes, Agua Luca.

Dani Marco: What is that?

Rainlove Lampariello: Cachaca is a Brazilian sugarcane liquor, distilled wash of cane first press, so it’s got like raw sugarcane smell and spirit. It’s good for cocktails especially this one. So, a bunch right over there—counts of four.

Dani Marco: Alright.

Rainlove Lampariello: There you go

Dani Marco: Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: Nice. Okay, we’ll press the lime juice, one, two and then we have a simple syrup.

Dani Marco: I could count. Are these your—

Rainlove Lampariello: Most of them are my—it’s pretty much everything is derived from classic cocktails and we just add to it. That’s all. So, this is based on like a mojito but it’s a little more simple, a little more fresh.

Dani Marco: And I’m making a drink for Bowie.

Rainlove Lampariello: Yeah, that’s how you do. Nice. Good. So, you want to put that in right on top.

Dani Marco: Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: Put a little tap on top like that and now shake it. We got a good shape on that.

Dani Marco: I can do it. Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: Yeah.

Dani Marco: Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: I’d like to put the soda in the bottom to mix this throughout the drink.

Dani Marco: Alright. Look how perfect that is right from the top.

Okay, this Jade Goddess of the gorgeous drinks.

Rainlove Lampariello: Good drink. I’m proud of it.

Dani Marco: And I think that Bowie is a whiskey guy. I mean how do you get through rounds of this?

Rainlove Lampariello: He might be a whiskey guy. The night that he had this actually, there’s like a table full of models with him. And one of them ordered that. And then, the next thing you know, the whole table is then and we love these. And they had rounds and rounds and rounds.

Dani Marco: And now, this is the drink the Jade Goddess of the China Town Brasserie.

Before we get to the next drink, I want to know how hard is it to get in here like on Friday night with it?

Rainlove Lampariello: It’s pretty hard. The place is packed really between seven and 10, it’s almost impossible to get a reservation.

Dani Marco: Hugh Jackman drinks frozen Mai Tai.

Rainlove Lampariello: Pretty much everybody here drinks the frozen Mai Tai. That’s our classic. It’s our signature drink. So, this is cherry soaked in kirsch. We put that right on top of the Mai Tai for Hugh Jackman and his family.

Dani Marco: So, we have like a whole celebrity that’s up here.

Rainlove Lampariello: Yeah. That’s why you have to be careful because you’ll get brain freeze. You’ll really do.

Dani Marco: That is the least.

Rainlove Lampariello: It’s good.

Dani Marco: Oh, good.

Rainlove Lampariello: Good drink isn’t it?

Dani Marco: It’s like a dessert.

Rainlove Lampariello: I know.

Dani Marco: Okay so, I’ve got 10 cocktails on this list.

Rainlove Lampariello: 10.

Dani Marco: Alright, 10 and you’ve made your favorite.

Rainlove Lampariello: It’s pretty much. Yeah.

Dani Marco: Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: At least for today.

Dani Marco: They’re so good. Can you recap them?

Rainlove Lampariello: This is the frozen Mai Tai.

Dani Marco: Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: This is the Dark and Stormy with guzzling black rhum, little spicy. That’s the Jade Goddess.

Dani Marco: It sure is.

Rainlove Lampariello: Funny dew melon.

Dani Marco: So good.

Rainlove Lampariello: And that’s the Margarita.

Dani Marco: Right. Okay.

Rainlove Lampariello: So, I have to know which one of these is your favorite.

Dani Marco: Honestly, I think it would be like half Bowie, half Jackman I don’t know.

Rainlove Lampariello: Nice. And I thought that at the same time though.
