A high school senior in Ohio has been denied his diploma after his family and friends cheered too loudly at his graduation ceremony. The administration had to stop the ceremony and wait for the crowd to settle down before continuing. Cornist received a letter from the principal, which stated that he would not be getting his diploma from Mt. Healthy High School until either he or his family members complete 20 hours of community service as punishment for their behavior. Cornist’s mother has refused to cooperate with the community service order.

A Florida student also had his diploma delayed after Tebowing during his graduation ceremony. Tebowing is a popular trend modeled after the NFL quarterback Tim Tebow’s habit of kneeling in prayer on the football field. The Florida high school senior was forced to clean the gymnasium where the ceremony was held before receiving his diploma certificate.
